Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Duke Department of Radiation Oncology. You will provide direct patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team for patients receiving radiation therapy in our outpatient clinic, with flexible hours and the potential for four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts.

The role requires NP or PA credentials, BLS, NC licensure or PA licensure, and commitment to professional development through CME.

Qualifications

• NP with Master's in Nursing or PA with Bachelor's; Master's preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• North Carolina RN license for NP; NC PA license and national PA certification; DEA license required.

Responsibilities

• Work with physicians to evaluate and diagnose oncologic and medical problems and prescribe treatment for Radiation Oncology patients.
• Assist with program development and care for the Radiation Medicine Program for Benign Conditions.
• Take detailed patient histories, perform exams, order diagnostics, and formulate treatment plans.
• Educate patients and caregivers about diagnosis, plan, risks, and logistics of radiation treatment.
• Manage acute and late radiation-related effects and document progress in health records.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and participate in staff education.
