Job summary

Duke Health’s Radiation Oncology team in Durham, NC seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to support inpatient consults and the outpatient clinic. Flexible hours include four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, with care delivered in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include NP or PA training with appropriate degrees and licenses, BLS certification, and state licensure in NC.

Qualifications

• NP program completed with Master's degree in Nursing.
• PA program completed; Bachelor's degree required; Master's strongly preferred.
• NC RN licensure + NP national certification (for NPs).
• NC license for Physician Assistants; PA certification by NCCPA; DEA license.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose oncologic and medical problems and prescribe treatment for Radiation Oncology patients.
• Take detailed histories, perform exams, order imaging, and formulate treatment plans.
• Educate patients and caregivers about diagnosis, treatment risks, and logistics of radiation therapy.
• Assess and manage acute and late radiation-related effects.
• Maintain accurate health records and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to staff education and CME activities; participate in ongoing professional development.
• Adhere to NC laws and Duke Health System policies.
