Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks a Process & Sampling Technician at Level 3 or 4 to support the Radiation Protection Services Group by maintaining and calibrating radiation protection instrumentation. The role involves testing, evaluation, and calibration of fixed and portable alpha, beta, neutron, photon, and tritium instruments.

Level 3 requires 3 years of related experience or an associate degree; Level 4 requires 5 years. Onsite work in Los Alamos, NM; Q clearance may be required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance and repair of instrumentation.
  • Experience with analog and digital electronics troubleshooting at board and component level.
  • Ability to describe circuit-board level diagnosis and repair using standard tools.

Responsibilities

  • Repair RP instruments and calibrate RP instrumentation using radioactive sources; troubleshoot frequent issues.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate processes, procedures, and applications.
