Job summary

Level 1/2 roles involve assembling documentation, post-labeling, and supporting shipment of radioactive materials, with emphasis on safety and compliance in a dynamic lab setting.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of radiation safety concepts with minimal experience in radiological techniques.
• Expected to maintain status as a DOE-qualified radiation control technician (RCT) with training.
• Ability to work independently with broad program directions.
• Must meet physical requirements including lifting up to 40 lbs and standing/walking for part of the day.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiological surveys and generate reports and audits to support the Radiation Protection Program.
• Post/label areas and items controlled for radiological purposes; respond to incidents under supervision.
• Provide advanced radiological support during preparation, packaging, and shipment of radioactive materials.
• Support radiological operations and environmental monitoring across the Lab.
