Job summary

Hospitality Health ER in Longview, TX is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our night shift team on 6-8 hour shifts. The Radiologic Technologist will care for patients from neonates to geriatrics, maintaining comfort and dignity while producing high-quality radiographs.

Responsibilities include operating radiologic equipment, positioning patients, ensuring exposure factors, practicing radiation safety, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and families.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • One year of radiologic/imaging experience.
  • Registered with the ARRT.
  • CPR certification.
  • Current State licensure from TDH.
  • Maintains continuing education and training in radiology.

Responsibilities

  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce radiographs for diagnostics as directed by Radiologist.
  • Position patients and adjust immobilization devices for optimal views.
  • Adjust exposure factors (time, distance) per protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Apply radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, patients, and families to deliver quality care.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and patients while maintaining professionalism.

Overview

A freestanding ER in Longview, TX is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join their night shift team to work 6-8-hour shifts. The Radiologic Technologist at Hospitality Health ER cares for all patients including neonates, infants, children, adults, and geriatrics. The Radiologic Technologist will strive to provide proficient, competent care while maintaining the patient's sense of comfort and dignity.

Responsibilities for the Radiologic Technologist

1. Operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (X- rays) of body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by Radiologist.

2. Positions patients on the exam table appropriately and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.

3. Moves x-ray equipment into specified position and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance, based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.

4. Practices radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors, to minimize radiation to patient and staff.

5. Shows knowledge of job when collaborating with physician, nurses, patients, and families.

6. Communicating effectively with co-workers, patients, and families.

7. Maintaining professionalism in job performance and practice.

8. Adhering to the guiding principle and policies set forth by Hospitality Health Emergency Room.

9. Completing the ER/Radiology tech skill check off, showing competency in skill necessary to assist the nurse and physician.

10. Moves x-ray equipment into specified position and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance, based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.

11. Practices radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors, to minimize radiation to patient and staff.

PRN Position
Requirements and Qualifications for the Radiologic Technologist
  • Graduation from accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • One year of radiologic/imaging experience.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • CPR certification.
  • Current State licensure from TDH.
  • Maintains level of continuing education, collaborative training, and interactions in radiology field.
