Altus Community Healthcare is seeking a Radiology Technologist who will operate radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic images. You will ensure patient safety while performing examinations and apply radiation safety techniques.
The ideal candidate has a degree in Radiologic Technology, at least one year of relevant experience, and must be certified. Strong communication and basic arithmetic skills are essential for this role.
The Radiology Technologist will operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the ER Physician in accordance with the Radiologist’s accepted protocol. The technologist will also be proficient in positioning patients and the examination table to obtain optimum views of the requested area. The technologist will practice radiation safety techniques with the ALARA principle in mind, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors to maximize protection for patients and staff. Each technologist will operate CT scan equipment to produce computed tomography scans of the body, administer and consent for IV and oral contrast, and ensure proper documentation in the patient’s chart. The primary goal is to ensure patient safety and satisfaction while acquiring diagnostic‑quality exams.
