The Expeditionary Systems Engineering Division (ESED), part of the Corona Division of NAVSEA, provides lifecycle engineering and testing support for Expeditionary Warfare systems, including test operations at various DoD ranges across the U.S.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Radar Operator supports test operations at regional Southern California ranges under the Test Operations Support Services (TOSS) contract. This position is based in Fallbrook, CA.

What You'll Do
  • Set up, operate, and perform preventive maintenance on radar equipment.
  • Operate radar systems for object detection, tracking, recognition, analysis, and identification, including directing artillery fires and weather forecasting.
  • Analyze data to isolate faults and perform repairs or adjustments to enhance radar performance.
  • Operate test equipment related to radar system use, fault diagnosis, and repair.
  • Support bid and proposal activities if requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Active secret clearance.
  • Associate degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of four years' experience with ground radar tracking systems similar to Weibel Radar.
  • Experience with radar or digital signal processing equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and repair skills for analog and digital circuitry, including power supplies and microwave components.
  • Data analysis skills to improve radar performance.
  • Knowledge of Doppler antenna patterns, phase coherency, system sensitivity, and related technologies.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including technical report preparation.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities like standing, walking, and climbing.
  • Capability to operate heavy machinery and industrial tools with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with monopulse and phased array radars.
  • Knowledge of embedded software and PLC systems.
  • Experience with electronic test equipment, network administration, Linux OS, and programming languages such as VBasic and C#.
  • Experience with explosive safety and handling ammunition and explosives.
  • Familiarity with WinTrack, Weibel Chronograph, and WinDopp software.
