Job summary

Bowhead seeks an experienced Engineering Technician to support NSWC Crane Division. The role involves radar system maintenance, repair, and prototype work with a focus on electrical and electronic assemblies.

You will interact with Navy personnel, test teams, and engineers to ensure system readiness. The position requires 5+ years in electronics maintenance, Navy radar experience preferred, and compliance with PPE, ESD, and safety training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
• An Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology highly desired
• At least five years of electronics Technician/maintenance experience required
• Navy Electronics experience highly desired
• PPE, high voltage, ESD and related training required to perform duties in designated areas
• Fall protection, overhead crane, forklift certifications required or able to obtain
• Solder certification to IPC J-STD-001/IPC 7711/7721 or 2M standards desired
• Basic to intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills

Responsibilities

• Radar system maintenance, repair, overhauls, and cable harness fabrication
• Populate RVCA and manage parts inventory; perform system testing per procedures
• Collaborate with technicians on AN/SPS-67/SPS-73 radar consoles and equipment
• Communicate effectively with Task Lead, Branch Manager, ISEA and US Navy fleet
• Provide troubleshooting assistance to ISEA and US Navy
• Maintain parts inventory according to OM&S regulations
• Build prototypes from rough sketches under engineer direction
• Assemble and test circuitry and electronic components per instructions
• Perform depot maintenance on electronic systems
• Other duties as assigned
