ARES is seeking an entry-level Air Surveillance Radar Technician at Wallops Island, VA. The role focuses on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of legacy FAA-certified RADAR systems, with an emphasis on readiness and reliability.

Candidates should have a two-year technical degree plus relevant experience or military service, and may require FAA ASR-8 certification or the ability to obtain one. The position carries a fixed salary under the CBA and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position in ROC Surveillance Radar section; requires combined education and work experience totaling 5 years (e.g., two-year technical degree plus military service or related work).
• Hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of legacy FAA-certified RADAR systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure continuous system readiness.
• Troubleshoot and repair radar hardware and IFF systems; interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Operate test equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, spectrum analyzers) to diagnose issues; support on-call maintenance as needed.
