Job summary

Sigma Defense is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers in Mount Laurel, NJ, focusing on radar instrumentation and threat radar models. The role includes directing day-to-day technical work, coordinating with program, system and hardware managers, and ensuring delivery on cost, schedule and performance.

The candidate will drive ISO and CMMI compliance, implement development processes, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

5+ years leading software development teams in an engineering environment.
10+ years of software development experience.
Experience implementing and improving software development processes.
Demonstrated experience leading software development in support of business goals.
Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

Lead a group of ~20 software engineers to design and maintain software for instrumentation radars and threat radar models.
Provide day-to-day technical and task leadership, ensuring on-time, high-quality software delivery.
Collaborate with program, system, and hardware managers for project planning and execution.
Plan staff for ongoing and upcoming projects with program managers and leadership.
Assist recruiters to hire software engineering staff when needed.
Engage with universities to hire software co-ops and interns.
Mentor engineers on growth, career development and performance.
Implement and lead software development processes and quality assurance.
