Job summary

The University of Oklahoma's Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC) seeks experienced Mechanical Engineers to join our team in Norman, OK. You will contribute across the full product lifecycle—from concept to production release—focusing on mechanical and electromechanical systems for advanced radar technologies.

Ideal candidates have SolidWorks CAD modeling experience and proficiency with ANSYS, geometric tolerancing, and FEA.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
Minimum 36 months of mechanical engineering experience.
Equivalency: 48 months of related experience may substitute for the degree.
Valid driver's license and ability to obtain PE within six months.
Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, and tests mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
Identify operating and installation problems and propose solutions.
Develop specifications for selection and installation of mechanical equipment.
Develop mechanical system requirements, including cost and lead times.
Produce engineering models, drawings, and specifications meeting standards.
Create and maintain assemblies and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Source and evaluate components to support production needs.
Prepare technical documentation, instructions, and visual assets for new launches.
