Job summary

Ursa Space Systems is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer to develop, implement, and test signal processing algorithms for SAR imagery. You will work on AMTI and related applications, prototyping through production, in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include creating SAR classification algorithms, contributing to cutting-edge processing techniques, performing performance analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• M.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and/or other technical discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience
• Proficiency in Python and version control software, preferably Git
• Experience developing or working with remote sensing and signal processing algorithms for SAR/RF
• Familiarity with SAR imaging modes and focusing algorithms

Responsibilities

• Create algorithms to classify objects in SAR imagery
• Contribute to state-of-the-art processing techniques to solve customer problems using commercial SAR imagery
• Contribute to proof-of-concept and production-quality SAR algorithms for AMTI
• Perform analysis to determine expected performance of processing algorithms for specific use cases
• Participate in agile software development processes to bring algorithms into operational use
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews
• Communicate effectively and collaborate frequently with peers
• Mentor junior members of the engineering team
• Lead technical subject areas
• Provide technical leadership to projects and programs
• All other duties as assigned
