Job summary

Ursa Space Systems is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer to develop, implement, and test signal processing algorithms for SAR imagery. You will work from prototype to production level in a fast-paced environment supporting AMTI and other applications.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years in radar or signal processing, strong Python and Git skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams while communicating technical concepts clearly.

Qualifications

• MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in radar systems or related signal processing roles.
• Proficiency in Python and Git version control.
• Experience with remote sensing and signal processing algorithms for SAR/RF.
• Familiarity with SAR imaging modes and focusing algorithms.
• Understanding of radar signal processing and detection techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work in a cross-functional team.
• Fast, reliable internet connection for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Create algorithms to classify objects in SAR imagery.
• Contribute to state-of-the-art processing techniques to solve customer problems using SAR imagery.
• Contribute to proof-of-concept and production-quality SAR algorithms for AMTI.
• Perform analysis to determine expected performance of processing algorithms for specific use cases.
• Participate in agile software development processes to bring algorithms into operational use.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate frequently with peers.
• Mentor junior members of the engineering team.
• Lead technical subject areas and provide project leadership.
• All other duties as assigned.
