Job summary

Synectic Solutions, Inc. (SSI) is seeking a RADAR Engineer (Journeyman) to support the H-60 Multi-Mission Helicopters Program Office at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD.

The role focuses on RADAR sensor systems for MH-60R/S, with secondary duties in acoustics, AMCM, and EO/IR systems, ensuring performance and readiness across the acquisition lifecycle. The engineer will work on on-site duties in Building 2272, with roughly two weeks of travel annually, supporting IPTs,

Qualifications

• Active DoD clearance or higher is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• BS/BA in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in the labor category.
• Experience with RADAR systems is highly preferred.
• Experience with acoustic sensor systems is highly preferred.
• Experience with FLIR/EO-IR is preferred.
• Experience with AMCM is preferred.
• Strong background in mission systems integration in a DoD or Naval Aviation environment.
• Experience preparing and reviewing engineering documentation, specifications, and risk assessments for acoustics or sensor systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide RADAR engineering expertise supporting the MH-60R/S IPT for helicopter sensor systems.
• Identify, diagnose and develop solutions for acoustics and sensors including ALFS, DMAD, MTS, and FLIR.
• Apply engineering principles to investigate, design, test, or evaluate military weapons systems.
• Review and prepare engineering analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
• Perform systems integration, configuration management, risk management, and related tasks.
• Analyze and develop software, components, or systems for military weapon systems and support systems.
• Prepare technical documentation for SETR events and lead SETR meetings as required.
• Develop SOWs and CDRLs; gather and manage performance requirements across stakeholders.
