What You Will Do

Join the Advanced Products & Solutions (APS) Mission Area within the Systems Engineering Center, where we design and develop advanced radar and early-warning sensor systems for the warfighter. We are seeking Radar Systems Engineers who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving complex technical problems, and are eager to support innovative sensor and radar programs.

  • You will work alongside experienced engineers to define system architecture, develop requirements, perform analysis and modeling, and support integration, testing, and flight activities across the full product lifecycle.
  • Support development, analysis, documentation, and verification of system requirements using DOORS
  • Generate system CONOPS and system architectures.
  • Assist with radar mode requirement development and system performance assessments.
  • Conduct modeling, simulation, and data analysis using tools such as MATLAB, Python, and C++.
  • Participate in hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and hands‑on laboratory testing.
  • Support verification, validation, flight test, production, and post‑deployment activities.
  • Perform trade studies, functional/physical analyses, and MBSE‑based system design.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Masters Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date
  • Experience in Systems Engineering or knowledge of radar fundamentals
  • Experience with algorithm design, requirements development, software/hardware integration, data analysis using Matlab, and configuration management.

Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

DoD Clearance: Secret

Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Secret Security Clearance
  • 3.5 GPA or higher
  • Major: in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics.
  • Programming experience in Java, C++, Python.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB
  • Experience with:
    • Hands‑on testing of electronic equipment in labs
    • Troubleshooting electronic or system‑level issues
    • Signal processing, control theory, statistics, information theory, and detection methods
    • Imaging/pattern recognition
    • Data filtering (Kalman, batch, optimal estimation)
    • Advanced statistics
    • DOORS or CAMEO

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
