Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory seeks a Radar Systems Engineer to design and analyze advanced radar systems supporting national defense. You will work in the Air and Missile Defense Sector, within the Sensor Systems Engineering Group (A2B), collaborating with government sponsors and prime contractors.

You will analyze radar performance under variable conditions, develop realizable solutions, and document findings.

Qualifications

  • BS in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Aerospace, Hypersonics, Radar, or RF systems.
  • Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, MATLAB Toolboxes, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance by start date and eligibility for Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze radar systems using a high-fidelity model to assess performance under variable conditions.
  • Research and develop realizable solutions to gaps identified via modeling and analysis.
  • Document analysis findings and new concepts clearly.
  • Interact with sponsors to understand priorities and share results.
  • Participate in design reviews, interchanges, working groups, and status meetings.
  • Collaborate with Navy and vendor locations.
  • Propose ideas for APL Internal Research and Development funding.
