Job summary

Envisioneering Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join defense programs, focusing on radar/RF data processing and Python development across Windows and Linux environments.

The role requires a Secret DoD clearance, a BS in engineering, and 5+ years in engineering and Python. You’ll design software for data acquisition, analysis, automation, and instrument integration while ensuring secure, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Active DoD security clearance at Secret level or higher at time of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in engineering and a minimum 5 years professional experience in Python development.
• Demonstrated Python experience relevant to data processing, analysis, automation, and/or test support.
• Working familiarity with radar and/or RF engineering concepts, measurement techniques, and terminology.
• Experience working in both Windows and Linux development/test environments.
• Experience with C++ and associated tools (gcc/intel compilers, cmake, Visual Studio, etc).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Python software for data acquisition, processing, analysis, automation, and test support.
• Develop software to support radar and RF engineering tasks, including data ingestion, calibration, analysis, and visualization.
• Integrate with laboratory and field instrumentation when required (e.g., USB, TCP/IP, VISA, serial).
• Work across Windows and Linux platforms; create reproducible deployment and test workflows.
• Integrate Python with other tools and languages.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, test engineers, and program managers to translate requirements into testable software solutions.
• Produce documentation, test plans, and user guides; support lab and field test campaigns as needed.
• Adhere to security and programmatic requirements for handling classified information and controlled environments.
