Job summary

DESE Research, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Radar Engineer/Analyst in Huntsville to join a team supporting missile defense radar systems. You will design analysis tools, perform complex radar performance analyses, and provide technical support across multiple programs with external customers and stakeholders.

The role requires strong MATLAB/Python skills, experience in radar analysis, and the ability to communicate findings clearly. US Citizenship and active Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with sensor and/or system-level data analysis.
• Proficient in data manipulation, visualization, signal processing and radar analysis.
• Experience with MATLAB and radar analysis tools.
• US Citizenship and an active Secret clearance or ability to obtain.
• Ability to communicate complex radar behaviors to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis tool design and development and complex analysis of radar system and/or algorithm performance.
• Provide expertise on radar functions including acquisition, scheduling, tracking, discrimination, and system-level interactions.
• Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop creative solutions to complex problems.
• Support performance analysis, modeling & simulation, post-flight reconstruction, and risk reduction efforts.
• Interact with external customers and stakeholders within the Missile Defense Agency and contractors.

DESE Research, Inc. is seeking a talented, motivated, and enthusiastic Mid-Level Radar Engineer/Analyst to join a well-established team in an AVMC lab that supports the development, test, and fielding of missile defense radar systems. This role focuses on analysis tool design and development, complex analysis of radar system and algorithm performance, and technical support across a broad range of missile defense radar efforts. Job Details:

The candidate will work as part of a well-established team supporting the development, test, and fielding of missile defense radar systems. The role includes analysis tool design and development and complex analysis of radar system and/or algorithm performance. The candidate will provide expertise on critical radar functions, investigate technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop creative solutions to complex technical problems.

The candidate will also support projects involving performance analysis, modeling and simulation (M&S), post‑flight reconstruction, and integration and risk reduction efforts. The role requires interaction with external customers and stakeholders within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), program offices, and radar development prime contractors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis tool design and development and complex analysis of radar system and/or algorithm performance.
• Provide expertise on various aspects of critical radar functions, including acquisition, scheduling, tracking, discrimination, advanced functions, and system‑level interactions.
• Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop creative solutions to complex technical problems.
• Support a broad range of projects, including performance analysis, modeling & simulation (M&S), post‑flight reconstruction, and integration and risk reduction efforts.
• Interact with external customers and stakeholders within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), program offices, and radar development prime contractors.

Required Qualifications:

• US Citizenship.
• Minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, or Computer Science from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience with sensor and/or system‑level data analysis.
• Proficient in data manipulation and analysis, data visualization, signal and data processing, electromagnetics, and/or system engineering using MATLAB, Python, and/or similar tools.
• Ability to develop and/or contribute to reports and briefings that explain complex radar behaviors effectively to a broad range of audiences.
• Experience developing and/or improving complex analysis tools using MATLAB.
• Experience in radar analysis, radar systems engineering, and/or radar test and evaluation.
• Ability to multi‑task and work effectively across multiple efforts.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Must have an active Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AN/TPY-2 TM.
• Experience with radar signal detection/injection HWIL systems.
• Experience in C, C++, and Ada programming, Linux/Unix operating systems, and Microsoft Office.
