DESE Research, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Test Engineer/Analyst to join a dedicated AVMC lab supporting missile defense system development, test, and fielding.

The role involves real-time hardware-in-the-loop systems, software and hardware, and digital representations of complex systems. You will design analysis tools, develop test cases, and perform complex analysis of system performance, with potential involvement in M&S, post-flight reconstruction, and integration efforts.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant working experience.
• Direct operational or test experience with Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) is required.
• Ability to analyze problems, summarize results, and make recommendations.

Responsibilities

This role involves working with real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) systems, tactical software and hardware, and digital representations of complex missile defense systems. Job Details:

The candidate will work as part of a well-established team supporting the development, test, and fielding of a tactical missile defense system. The role includes working with real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) systems, tactical software and hardware, and digital representations of complex missile defense systems.

The candidate will perform analysis tool design and development, conduct complex analysis of missile defense system and/or algorithm performance, and develop and maintain test cases supporting software and system integration. The candidate may also support performance analysis, modeling and simulation (M&S), post‑flight reconstruction, and integration and risk reduction efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis tool design and development and complex analysis of missile defense system and/or algorithm performance.
• Develop and maintain test cases to support software integration and system integration.
• Support a broad range of projects, including performance analysis, modeling & simulation (M&S), post‑flight reconstruction, and integration and risk reduction efforts.
• Apply practical engineering knowledge across a broad range of established system engineering principles, concepts, and methods.
• Analyze and document results of test cases in software and hardware test report documentation.
• Develop system requirements to support system functionality.

Required Qualifications:

• US Citizenship.
• Minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant working experience.
• Direct operational or test experience with Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) is required.
• Proficient in data manipulation and analysis, data visualization, signal and data processing, electromagnetics, and/or system engineering using MATLAB or similar tools.
• Must have the ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
• Ability to develop and/or contribute to reports and briefings that explain complex system behaviors effectively to a broad range of audiences.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively across multiple efforts.
• Must have an active Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing and/or improving complex analysis tools using MATLAB.
• Experience in real-time analysis using Linux/Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience with Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD).
• Experience in C, C++, Linux/Unix operating systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
