Job Summary
Perform radiology exams in compliance with regulatory agencies, departmental, and hospital policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Sound technical knowledge and proficiency in the use of radiology equipment, including daily upkeep and maintenance of Fluoroscopy, C-arms, portables, breast specimen imaging units, cystography tables, and general imaging accessories in the radiology examination room.
- Perform radiology exams as per protocol on a variety of body parts in a timely manner.
- Complete appropriate history forms, technologist exam sheets, and consent forms when necessary.
- Stock exam rooms with required supplies.
- Check laboratory reports and perform data entry in Meditech using accurate times and entries.
- Mark all images taken as verified/dictated in PACS and scan documents into PACS, attaching them to the correct patient/exam.
- Send exams from PACS or modality to the Amicus tele‑rad system when necessary.
- Enter exam notes on PACS.
- Verify orders in chart and properly identify patients before performing radiographic exams; initial chart with date/time when exam is complete.
- Interact with staff radiologists, other physicians, and imaging staff; communicate effectively with customers (physicians, patients, co‑workers, etc.).
- Start or remove I.V. lines when necessary.
- Transport patients to and from the ER and other imaging departments when necessary.
- Move patients on and off the exam table.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Credentials: (ARRT-R) Radiography, (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer.
- Completion of a vocational school program.
