Job summary

The Ritz-Carlton Bacara is seeking a part-time Racquet Sports Front Desk Attendant in Santa Barbara, CA. You will deliver superior customer service, assist with reservations, merchandise sales, and event preparation while supporting racquet sports operations.

As part of Cliff Drysdale Tennis and PBI Tennis under Troon, you’ll join a global racquet sports leadership team and contribute to an exceptional guest experience at a luxury resort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience.
• Active tennis player with knowledge of the game.
• Retail sales experience preferred.
• Computer proficiency including POS and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Opens and closes the shop as determined by management.
• Processes POS transactions accurately.
• Collects applicable fees from members/guests and outside patrons.
• Makes court, clinic, lesson and special event reservations by person or phone.
• Assists guests by selling merchandise and providing information.
• Maintains displays and rotates stock; keeps the shop clean and orderly.
• Assists with inventories and merchandising.
• Collaborates with coaches to facilitate start and play times.
• Ensures safe work practices and regular attendance.

We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of racquet sports operations. As part of Troon/Cliff Drysdale and PBI Tennis, you'll contribute to a global leader in racquet sports, golf and community management.

The Ritz-Carlton Bacara - Santa Barbara is a luxury resort and club located along California's stunning Central Coast. Featuring four Har-Tru clay courts, the club offers a premier racquets experience for resort guests and members alike.

Compensation

$17.00 - $28.00 per hour

Job summary

Offers superior customer service while selling merchandise and assisting management in merchandising, inventory control, reservations, and special events preparation.

Essential Duties

• Performs opening and closing procedures for the shop or store as determined by management.
• Responsible for accountability of POS transactions made.
• Collects applicable fees from members/guests and outside patrons as they arrive.
• Makes court, clinic, lesson and special event reservations, in person or by phone.
• Assists guests by selling merchandise and providing information in a professional manner.
• Assists with rotating stock and keeping displays clean and orderly.
• Assists with general cleaning of the shop or store.
• Assist shop supervisor with creating appealing displays.
• Assists with monthly physical inventories.
• May work with coaches to facilitate orderly start and play times.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required/needed.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

• Frequently stands and uses hands; reaches with hands and arms, talks or hears.
• Regularly walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.
• Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise

• Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.
• Noise level is moderate.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences

• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
• Active tennis player with knowledge of the game.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• Computer proficiency including but not limited POS, Microsoft Office applications, social media and other programs related to tennis.
