Job summary

Magna Exteriors in the United States is seeking a hands-on technician to maintain rack inventories and build racks from drawings. You will weld aluminum and steel, operate shop equipment, and ensure accurate rack documentation for both Nascote and customers. A strong mechanical aptitude and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities include repair, organization of tools, and occasional travel. A high school diploma or GED is required; a technical welding or mechanical repair degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED; trade schooling preferred.
• Experience welding aluminum and steel; read blueprints.
• Good problem-solving, organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains material inventory used in rack development and repair.
• Constructs and builds racks from prototype drawings (cutting, welding).
• Delivers disposal of obsolete racks (ship/tear down).
• Updates rack information for Nascote and customer-owned racks.
• Maintains rack repair shop equipment and tools.
• Operates shop equipment (drill press, band saw, welder, hand tools).
• Participates in problem-solving initiatives and cost ideas.
• Travels as required; performs other tasks as assigned.
