Job summary

Smart Care Equipment Solutions is seeking a Rack Refrigeration Technician to install, maintain, and repair large-scale refrigeration rack systems in commercial and industrial settings across the United States. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, manage service calls, and document work orders.

Qualified candidates have EPA certification, relevant licenses, and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• EPA Certification required for handling refrigerants.
• Licenses: D1, D2, S1, or S2.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle priorities.
• Knowledge of safety procedures for high-voltage systems and pressurized refrigerants.
• Willingness to work overtime, nights and weekends when needed.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair refrigeration rack systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues within rack systems.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance for optimal performance and longevity.
• Work with refrigerants (R-22, R-404A, R-448A, R-449A, CO2) safely and efficiently.
• Respond to service calls, ensuring timely repairs and minimal downtime.
• Test and verify system functions and ensure components run efficiently.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain compliance.
• Provide customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients.
• Maintain accurate service records, including time cards, logs, and inventory reports.
• Mentor junior technicians and entry-level helpers when needed.
• Assist with on-call responsibilities for nights and weekends.
