Job summary

Goshen Engineering seeks a hands-on Rack Assembly Supervisor to lead the Rack Assembly team, ensuring safe, efficient, and quality-focused assembly of electrical equipment. You will report to the Production Manager and guide technicians and leads to meet schedules.

You will coordinate daily staffing, monitor progress, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Materials teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in manufacturing, electrical assembly, or related production environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring devices, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting, communication, and ability to follow approved processes and documentation requirements.
  • Ability to provide direction to employees, coordinate multiple priorities, and monitor production performance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to coordinate staffing, work assignments, priorities, materials, tools, and resources and resolve or escalate assembly, quality, material, and workflow issues.
  • Regular on-site physical presence is required; ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and safely use computers and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and coordinate the Rack Assembly team and Leads.
  • Plan and assign daily rack assembly work, staffing, and priorities based on production schedules.
  • Monitor workmanship, fit, alignment, quality, and schedule performance; address delays or bottlenecks.
  • Ensure routine quality checks are performed and documented.
  • Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and training to employees.
  • Coordinate with multiple functions to resolve production issues and ensure availability of drawings, materials, tools, and information.
  • Address issues and escalate as needed for technical or operational support.
  • Ensure work areas, tools, equipment, and materials are organized to support production activities.
  • Support safe work practices, continuous learning, and quality improvement.
  • Maintain production and quality records and support continuous improvement.
  • Promote teamwork and accountability within Rack Assembly.

About The Role

Goshen Engineering is seeking a hands-on Rack Assembly Supervisor to directly supervise the assigned Rack Assembly team within Production and support the safe, efficient, and quality-focused assembly of electrical equipment and integrated electrical systems. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role leads Electrical Assembly Technician I-III employees and designated Leads, coordinates daily staffing and work priorities, monitors production and quality, develops employees, and works cross-functionally to keep scheduled work moving.

What You'll Do
  • Directly supervise and coordinate the work of Electrical Assembly Technician I-III employees and designated Leads within Rack Assembly.
  • Plan and assign daily rack assembly work, staffing, and priorities based on production schedules, employee capabilities, material availability, and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor assembly work and production progress for workmanship, fit, alignment, quality, and schedule performance; identify delays, bottlenecks, or resource needs and take appropriate action or escape as needed.
  • Ensure routine quality checks are performed and documented for assembled equipment and address issues identified during assembly.
  • Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, training, and performance feedback and support employee progression through the Electrical Assembly Technician I-III and Lead structure.
  • Coordinate with Production Management, Control Wiring, Quality, Engineering, Materials, and other functions to resolve production issues and ensure required drawings, materials, tools, and information are available to support scheduled work.
  • Address assembly, fit, alignment, tooling, material, quality, and workflow issues and escalat matters requiring additional technical or operational support.
  • Ensure assigned work areas, tools, equipment, and materials are available and organized to support scheduled production activities.
  • Support safe work practices, efficient production methods, quality improvement, and continuous learning within the assigned team.
  • Maintain required production, quality, and work records and applicable business systems.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, communication, and continuous improvement within Rack Assembly.
  • Perform hands-on assembly support or other production activities as needed to address workflow, training, quality, or schedule requirements.

  • Ability to work effectively with production, engineering, quality, materials, and other internal personnel.
  • Strong leadership and team-development capability, including direction, coaching, training, performance feedback, and accountability.
  • Ability to coordinate staffing, work assignments, priorities, materials, tools, and resources and resolve or escalat assembly, quality, material, and workflow issues.
  • Regular on-site physical presence is required; ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, bend/reach/stoop/kneel/push/pull/grasp, lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds, and safely use computers, office equipment, tools, machinery, testing equipment, and measuring devices required for assigned duties.
  • Ability to safely operations company vehicles, forklifts, cranes, trailers, and other vehicles or heavy equipment required for assigned duties, when applicable. Additional hours, weekend work, or customer-site travel may be required based on business needs.
Preferred
  • Prior experience supervising or leading electrical assembly or manufacturing employees.
  • Experience assembling electrical equipment or integrated electrical systems.
  • Experience with documented quality checks, production records, and employee training.
