Job summary

Muth Electric, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Racking Assembly Lead to oversee daily prefabricated electrical rack assembly in our shop. The role blends hands-on electrical work with crew leadership, quality control, and production coordination to meet project drawings and schedules.

You will mentor less-experienced team members, ensure safety and accuracy, manage material flow, and coordinate with project management, warehouse, and field staff to resolve issues and keep production on track.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills and ability to use production or inventory systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily activities of electrical racking assembly personnel.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, layouts, one-lines, specifications, and assembly details.
  • Assemble prefabricated electrical racks, supports, conduit, cable tray, boxes, fittings, and related electrical components.
  • Ensure assemblies are constructed according to drawings, project specifications, and established quality standards.
  • Verify dimensions, component locations, connections, and overall assembly quality before release.
  • Organize work assignments and prioritize production based on project schedules and deadlines.
  • Identify missing, incorrect, or damaged materials and coordinate with warehouse or supervision to resolve issues.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient work area to maximize production.
  • Track production progress and communicate status, delays, and potential issues to shop leadership.
  • Train and mentor less-experienced employees on proper assembly methods, tools, safety practices, and quality expectations.
  • Lead by example by maintaining high standards for safety, workmanship, productivity, and attendance.
  • Perform quality checks throughout the assembly process to minimize rework and field issues.
  • Coordinate completed assemblies for staging, shipping, and delivery to the jobsite.
  • Work closely with project management, purchasing, warehouse, and field personnel to resolve production issues.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and production records as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Electrical Racking Assembly Lead is responsible for leading the daily assembly of prefabricated electrical racking systems in a shop environment. This role combines hands-on electrical assembly with crew leadership, quality control, production coordination, and material management.

The Assembly Lead ensures racks are built safely, accurately, efficiently, and according to project drawings, specifications, and production schedules. This position serves as the primary point of contact between the assembly team, warehouse, project management, and shop leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

Preferred:
  • Experience with electrical prefabrication or modular construction.
  • Previous lead, foreman, or supervisory experience.
  • Experience with conduit, cable tray, supports, electrical boxes, and prefabricated assemblies.
  • Experience working from BIM/shop drawings is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move electrical materials and components.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing/shop environment.
