Job summary

Porsche Penske Motorsport seeks a qualified Performance Engineer to join its race shop and travel with the IMSA program, based in Mooresville, NC. The role requires developing, validating and communicating performance improvements for our two Porsche 963 prototypes, with extensive domestic and international travel.

You will work with race engineers, tire and aero groups, and strategists to analyze data, test ideas, and implement enhancements under pressure, delivering timely, reliable results

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• At least 6 years of engineering experience.
• Expert data analysis skills with multiple software.
• Expert in vehicle dynamics and suspension systems.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Experience with Michelin tires preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, visualize, and share time-series data from multiple sources.
• Model and modify vehicle dynamics parameters to improve performance.
• Interpret and optimize suspension systems including 7-post testing.
• Support tire performance optimization and tire management.
• Assist Strategy Engineer with pre- and post-event analysis tasks.
• Assist with live strategy analysis and support during races.
