Job summary

FastTek Global, Pontiac, Michigan, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and run 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines. You will study work orders and blueprints, select tooling speeds/feeds, and perform in-process inspection to ensure parts meet specs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in CNC machining, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to communicate across disciplines. Shift flexibility is required to meet production demands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machining experience or equivalent.
• Tooling speeds and feeds selection responsibility.
• 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC operation.
• Utilization of GD&T standards.
• Interpersonal skills required to work with others from various disciplines and cultures.
• Must be willing and able to work day and afternoon shifts as required to meet demands.
• Strong level of analytical thinking.
• The successful candidate will have to successfully pass a driver's abstract and background.

Responsibilities

• Set up 3, 4 and 5 axis tooling and perform in-process inspection.
• Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, and specs.
• Maintain part specifications and QA procedures.
• Maintain equipment via preventive maintenance per manufacturer instructions.
• Meet organizational goals by taking ownership and adding value to the team.
• Collaborate with teammates across disciplines.

• Communicate technical data effectively to colleagues and leadership.

Responsibilities:

• 3, 4 and 5 Axis setup tooling, in process basic inspection, finishing to completion to inspected parts.
• Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and material

• Maintains part specifications by adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements specified by the

Required Skills/Experience:

• Minimum of 5+ years CNC machining experience or equivalent
• Tooling speeds and feeds selection responsibility

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience with both horizontal and vertical CNC machines
• CNC lathe programming and operation experience with SURFCAM and MASTERCAM
• Fanuc, Haas, Hurco, Fadal and Siemens controller experience will be a plus

Education:

• High School Diploma required
• Years of experience: Minimum of 5+ years CNC machining experience or equivalent
• Soft skills - ability to work with others is huge for this position, they must be a team player, keeping a clean organized environment
