Job summary

Albany International Corp. is seeking a R&T Engineer, Textiles in Rochester, NH.

You will work within a team under senior R&T engineers to execute project tasks, with on-the-job training to develop composite design and processing skills unique to Albany's advanced material solutions. Responsibilities include design, verification, and validation of woven products, preform design, process development, and modeling using CAD/CAE tools.

Qualifications

• BSc in Textile, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or related) or equivalent experience.
• Experience with modern composite preform manufacturing methods (weaving, braiding, tufting, fiber placement).
• Experience with technical textile design and analysis.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Willingness to perform hands-on work in dynamic setting.
• Team player.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, verification, and validation of new woven products and methods for composite manufacturing.
• Perform woven preform design, process development, equipment evaluation and manufacturing process modeling using CAD/CAE software.
• Evaluate computational model results and compare with experiments to assess process performance.
• Provide input for engineering updates to project leads and customers as needed.
• Management may reassign duties as needed.
