Job summary

Albany International is seeking a hands-on engineer to support research and technology projects advancing composite manufacturing capabilities. You’ll work on new materials, processes, and structures as part of a collaborative team, growing technical skills and contributing to customer‑focused development.

Expect a 9/80 schedule with safety-first practices and opportunities to mentor peers while impacting internal initiatives and program outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in materials, mechanical, civil, aerospace engineering or related field.
2–5 years in aerospace, composites, materials engineering or related fields preferred.
Exposure to composite materials, manufacturing processes, or product development.
Exposure to Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) and related processing methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

Identify and lead initiatives to enable and sustain world-class technical competency in R&D.
Identify advanced technologies and applications for potential business development.
Contribute to programs: evaluate alternate materials, identify manufacturing processes, mature technologies.
Provide mentoring and technical leadership; assess organizational competencies and training needs.
Collaborate on design verification/validation, material testing, and NPI standards.
