Job summary

Capital Vacations, LLC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician 2 to repair, maintain, and supervise resort facilities and staff. You will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and execute repairs to ensure safety and efficiency across electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.

The ideal candidate has maintenance experience in resort settings, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; valid driver's license with clean record.
• Experience in supervisory-level resort maintenance preferred.
• 1–2 years building/facilities maintenance experience required.
• CPO or AFO certification and hazardous materials training within 6 months preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, safety awareness, and OSHA knowledge essential.
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, efficient resort maintenance; supervise staff and schedule tasks.
• Troubleshoot complex maintenance issues and implement plans within budget.
• Direct maintenance activities for carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and fixtures.
• Maintain swimming pools and resort buildings; manage preventative work orders.
• Coordinate with teams; ensure compliance with safety standards.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician 2 to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining various equipment and systems to ensure their optimal functioning. You will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and carry out repairs as necessary. The ideal candidate has a strong background in maintenance work, possesses excellent problem-solving skills, and is committed to ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

What You're Great At

• Accountable for the safe and efficient maintenance of the resort through effective supervision of maintenance staff
• Assists as required in solving complex maintenance problems, capable of rapid decision‑making. Assists in the implementation of maintenance plans with considerations of budgetary constraints
• Supervises the overall activities of the maintenance staff as required. Trains and mentors development of staff. Follows up on maintenance technician jobs to ensure the quality of work
• Schedules and performs routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
• Completes work orders and daily projects reported by the front desk and otherwise assigned during shift
• Assists in assigning duties to all employees
• Performs a variety of skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of resort buildings and units, including carpentry, plumbing, filter maintenance, and light fixture maintenance
• Maintains swimming pool
• Coordinates or installs, inspects, repairs and maintains the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems
• Coordinates or installs, operates and maintains the heating, cooling and ventilation systems
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Here’s What You Have Already Achieved

• High School diploma/GED
• Have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance
• Have and maintain a good driving record clear of significant violations
• Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in Facility Management is preferred
• Experience in supervisory-level resort maintenance
• One (1) to two (2) years of experience in building and facilities maintenance
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification
• Hazardous material handling training within six (6) months of hire date
• One (1) year experience in the care, maintenance, and repair of large, commercial, or public swimming pools and associated equipment and facilities.
• Ability to multi-task, ability to spot safety risks and address quickly, proficient knowledge of OSHA Guidelines and regulations
• Excellent communication skills; written and verbal, organization and leadership skills, problem solving skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office products
