Job summary

Argen Corporation in San Diego, CA is seeking a Research & Development Zirconia Technician to support the zirconia production facility. You will prepare materials, operate lab and production equipment, and document results in accordance with procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• AS degree or equivalent in a technical field is required.
• Minimum of three years hands-on R&D, lab, or technical manufacturing experience.
• Basic math skills including weights, ratios, percentages, and metric units.
• Familiarity with laboratory or production equipment preferred.
• Strong documentation and attention to detail in procedures and results.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook; data systems experience helpful.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of ISO 13485 or cGMP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in product development activities for new and existing manufacturing processes.
• Prepares ceramic powder blends for R&D projects according to formulations.
• Operates equipment used in R&D projects (e.g., mass scales, powder blenders, hydraulic presses).
• Maintains accurate, complete, contemporaneous records of project work.
• Prepares test specimens and performs basic measurements such as dimensions, weight, density, shrinkage.
• Supports property testing such as flexural strength, translucency, and shade evaluation.
• Compiles results on spreadsheets or summary reports for review.
• Promptly reports equipment malfunctions.
• Identifies and reports deviations or unexpected outcomes.
• Other duties as assigned.
