Job summary

Scientific Applications & Research Associates, Inc. (SARA) is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to support rapid prototyping and production for DoD, DoE, and civilian customers in Colorado Springs, CO.

You will collaborate with engineers, machinists, and technicians from napkin sketch concepts through to final build, on a multidisciplinary team. The position offers growth opportunities within a dynamic Production Engineering Department, a fast-paced environment, and the chance to contribute to diverse

Qualifications

• 0–4 years welding/fabrication experience.
• Welding certificate/degree not required but is a plus.
• US Citizen with the ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance.
• Able to work solo and within a team with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication, welding, and/or soldering of brass, aluminum, plastic, and steel parts using the necessary tools.
• Follow work instructions and engineering drawings.
• Select, cut, layout, clamp, and tack materials before final weld.
• Operate welders, saws, grinders, gas torches and other fabrication tools with minimal supervision.
• Maintain quality and flow of fabricated parts; assist in problem solving.
