Job summary

Scientific Applications & Research Associates, Inc. (SARA) in Colorado Springs, CO seeks a Mechanical Engineer to advance R&D efforts for DoD/DoE programs. You will prototype, model, analyze, and document designs for transition to fielded systems, collaborating with engineers, physicists, and technicians.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 5–7 years of design experience, and TS clearance eligibility. Master’s degree and SolidWorks Simulation experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5–7 years of demonstrated experience designing mechanical or electromechanical equipment.
• Advanced skills in SolidWorks 3D modeling and knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Independent management of moderate to advanced mechanical design projects.
• Prepare 3D models and GD&T input for manufacturing drawings.
• Prototype fabrication, testing, and documentation of results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors on design improvements.
