Kelly Services is hiring for an R&D Technician (Polymer Materials), a 12-month contract role in Midland, MI. Primary Location: Midland, MI 48640. On-site role with work hours 7:30am–4:30pm. Pay rate: $35/hr. This position focuses on material characterization, data collection, and collaborative lab work.

The role requires a BS in engineering/science and polymer formulation experience, plus strong data handling and English fluency. Benefits are offered by Kelly.

Kelly is hiring for an R&D Technician (Polymer Materials), for a 12-month contract role in Midland, MI with our prestigious client.

Primary Location: Midland, MI 48640

Work Location: 3400 S. Saginaw Rd Unit 96/1382 Bldg., Midland, MI 48640

On-site Role | 7:30am - 4:30pm

Pay Rate: $35/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Operate benchtop test equipment for characterizing a variety of material properties and conducting reliability testing.

• Learn quickly to become proficient in a wide range of tests and processes.

• Accountable for own contributions in a timely manner.

• Solve simple problems using scientific reasoning.

• Use hand-held tools for sample preparation and/or projects involving hardware modification or fabrication.

• Collect and compile data from tests.

• Collaborate with multifunctional team members.

• Maintain the lab, including labeling samples and proper waste disposal.

• Maintain, verify, and calibrate laboratory equipment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree (preferred) in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related scientific disciplines.

• Formulation experience in polymer composite matrices is strongly preferred.

• Skilled in data acquisition and data management.

• Proficient in troubleshooting characterization and application equipment.

• Ability to identify and implement testing improvements, whether technique-, hardware-, or software-related.

• Background in silicones and related test methodologies is beneficial.

• Strong time management and organizational skills.

• Motivated to learn and apply new skills.

• Fluency in the English language.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• Strong interest and background in science and engineering.

• Hands-on laboratory experience with materials characterization, formulation, and testing.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
