Job description

The PCG Database Team is looking for a highly motivated individual to deliver on projects associated with internal and external PCG customers. Position may be responsible for reporting on results, working through marketing, technical and facility requests, formula development and evaluation, contributing to department strategy, and customer complaint resolution. Areas of focus will be PCG internal and external customer support, database creation and maintenance.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company’s staff, employees, and business relationships.

This role is not hybrid and will be located at Sherwin-Williams Morikis Global Technology Center located at 6745 Miller Road, Brecksville, OH 44141.

Responsibilities
  • Works with other technicians or chemists to build, evaluate and maintain product configuration and database development work. This work will include creation of letdown samples, application of letdown samples, measuring letdown samples, creation of colorant k/s curves, and database validation by testing a set of color standards. This work allows Global PCG Customers and Facilities to create and adjust custom colors with the Mosaic software.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of color science principles
  • Accurate documentation and presentation of lab results and technical information
  • Interaction with Marketing, Product Development labs, and various support groups
  • Effectively works and communicates with others through collaboration on assigned projects
  • Independently outlines and performs required tasks to achieve objectives requested with infrequent review of progress and results
  • Develop a technical and business knowledge regarding color for paint products
  • Maintenance of safe operating procedures through complete knowledge of safety rules and lab procedures
  • Resolution of problems relating to products and processed accomplished in a timely manner
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1,etc.)
  • High school diploma or equivalent of.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have 2 years of industrial lab experience.
  • Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong math skills
  • Prior experience with paint application and understanding of various substrates
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to maintain accurate records
  • Proven experience in delivering results while working independently and as part of a team to execute tasks accurately and consistently according to project timelines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some college with laboratory experience
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis
  • Prior experience with visual and computer color matching programs
  • Knowledge of Sherwin Williams PCG products
  • Knowledge of basic paint concepts
  • Knowledge of basic color theory and instrumentation

This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H-1B visa.
