Job summary

Armtec Defense Technologies in Camden, AR is seeking an R&D Technician II to support the design, testing, and optimization of pyrotechnic/flare countermeasure products. You will blend, form, assemble, and test materials under supervision to help engineers solve technical problems.

This role emphasizes hands-on experimentation, collaboration with engineers and production staff, and adherence to safety, ISO procedures, and lean improvements to move R&D work into production smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 5 years in pyrotechnic/flare countermeasures.
• Basic math, science, and engineering principles understood.
• Respirator certification required; training provided; must pass pulmonary test.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Leads and mentors technicians and production employees.
• Sets up and uses machines, fixtures and equipment for testing.
• Works with products beyond legacy MTV flare products.
• Builds products to print and engineering instructions.
• Conducts organized experiments and records results.
• Provides feedback to engineers on blending, forming, assembly, testing.
• Participates in design reviews, process hazard analyses, FMEAs.
• Supports lean improvements in R&D work areas.
• Assists transition of R&D products to production.
