Job summary

Armtec Defense Technologies in East Camden, AR is seeking a Sr. Research Chemist to investigate and test chemical properties of production and new materials for flares and related products. You will lead aspects of design of new products and improve chemical requirements for production process controls.

This role requires hands-on analytical chemistry, problem solving, and ability to guide teams. You will document results, develop lab procedures, and collaborate with engineering to scale up

Qualifications

• BS degree in chemistry or closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with energetic or similar hazardous materials is preferred.
• Knowledge of DoD quality requirements and ISO standards is desirable.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions to technology gaps with R&D manager.
• Mentor junior chemists and lab technicians.
• Investigate legacy and new materials through testing.
• Specify analytical instruments to support research programs.
• Lead continuous improvement for products and processes.
• Document tests, procedures, and reports.
• Support scale‑up and prototyping with design engineers.
• Organize and safely manage the laboratory workspace.
• Write procedures for fabrication of projects.
• Analyze data and present findings to stakeholders.
