Ultimate Staffing is seeking R&D Technicians - Day Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM to work onsite with our client in San Jose, CA and support the development of innovative battery technology. This role requires handling sensitive parts that are prone to cracking, using microscopes to image parts, and performing product quality control (QC).

Overview of Responsibilities:

R&D Technicians support solid-state battery development, including:

• Executing cell fabrication
• Processing materials
• Managing laboratory operations
• Running experiments with scientists
• Following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Documenting test results

Shift:

Day Shift Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Compensation:

• Minimum Relevant R&D / Manufacturing Experience: 0-2 years
• Base Pay Range: $24-$29/hr
• Minimum Relevant R&D / Manufacturing Experience: 3-5 years
• Base Pay Range: $30-$33/hr

Core Responsibilities

Cell Fabrication & Testing:

• Build coin cells, pouch cells, or proprietary solid-state devices following strict SOPs.
• Partner with engineers and scientists on materials processing, metrology, and lab experiments.

Data & Documentation:

• Record experimental data, track inventory, and report anomalies or results using MS Office or internal tools.
• Keep a clean, safe workspace and maintain equipment or supplies.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• 1+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory, R&D, or process manufacturing environment.

Physical & Environmental:

• Ability to work in a dry room, fume hood, or glovebox requiring fine motor skills and lifting up to 15-25 lbs.

Soft Skills:

• Detail-oriented, team-focused, and able to communicate observations clearly.

Highly Desired Qualifications

• Experience in the battery industry or high-tech device assembly.
• Knowledge of failure analysis, ceramic coatings, or microscope-scale products.
