Boom Supersonic's Centennial site is seeking a highly skilled technician to assemble, install, and align powerplant structures with precision. You will read engineering drawings, torque components, and document work in MRP/ERP while supporting functional tests and continuous improvement.

Qualified candidates hold an FAA A&P license with experience in aircraft assembly or MRO, can lift up to 50 lbs, and adapt to takt-time targets.

Qualifications

• FAA A&P license is required.
• Experience in aircraft assembly, MRO, or powerplant installations.
• Proficient in mechanical assembly: shimming, rigging, alignment, sealing.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and process specifications.
• Familiar with AS9100/AS9110 quality standards and powerplant documentation.

Responsabilités

• Assemble, install, and fit powerplant structures and subsystems with precision.
• Install and align propulsion systems meeting specs for mechanical, pneumatic, and fuel components.
• Identify and resolve installation issues to ensure readiness for functional tests.
• Document work in digital MRP/ERP systems.
• Conduct torqueing, bonding, sealing, and fastening per procedures.
• Perform engine readiness checks and power-on/test preparations.
• Mentor junior technicians on best practices and compliance.

About this position

Boom Supersonic’s mission is to make the world dramatically more accessible through a renaissance in supersonic flight. Boom is developing the Symphony supersonic engine, which powers the Overture supersonic airliner and the Superpower natural gas turbine for AI. This is precision, hands‑on integration work—building up engines, installing systems, and preparing powerplants for test and flight. Your craftsmanship directly impacts safety, quality, and our ability to deliver propulsion systems on schedule.

Role Overview

• Assemble, install, and fit powerplant/engine structures, instrumentation, and subsystem components with precision.
• Install and align propulsion systems, ensuring all mechanical, pneumatic, and fuel components meet specifications.
• Identify and resolve issues in powerplant installations to ensure readiness for functional tests.
• Maintain compliance with OEM engineering, safety, and quality standards in all tasks.
• Accurately document work in digital MRP/ERP systems to support seamless operations.
• Conduct and verify torqueing, bonding, sealing, and fastening to technical processes.
• Perform engine readiness checks, supporting power‑on, leak tests, and power generation preparations.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to boost production flow and first‑time yield.
• Mentor junior technicians on best practices and compliance, driving team expertise.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
• Experience in aircraft assembly, MRO, or powerplant installations.
• Expertise in mechanical assembly: shimming, rigging, alignment, and sealant application.
• Skilled at interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and process specifications.
• Familiar with AS9100/AS9110 quality standards and powerplant documentation.
• Capable of working independently, meeting takt‑time, and adapting to priority shifts.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in PPE‑required areas.

What Will Set You Apart

• Experience with next‑generation propulsion systems and nacelle integration.
• Expertise in turbine engine installation and handling (GE, P&W, Rolls‑Royce, etc.).
• Current certifications in torque/rigging, FOD prevention, ESD.
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing and improvement tools like 5S and Kaizen.

Working in our dynamic production environment, you’ll contribute to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, ensuring we deliver high‑quality aircraft systems on time and with zero safety violations.

Compensation

The Base Hourly Range for this position is $36/hr - $46/hr per year. Actual rate will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Boom’s total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include long‑term incentives/equity, a flexible PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
