Job summary

Maverick Power in Plano, TX seeks a Technical Writer for its Research and Development team. You will develop and govern documentation standards and manage SOPs, work instructions, and manuals to support quality and production processes.

You will evaluate documentation tools, collaborate across facilities, and translate complex engineering data into clear, compliant content while aligning with ISO and electrical standards. The role rewards independence and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a technical, mechanical, manufacturing, Quality team or related field
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field
• Demonstrated expertise in documentation architecture, information design, or knowledge management systems
• XML or HTML experience
• SharePoint
• Advanced ability to interpret complex engineering and technical data and translate into structured, compliant documentation
• General knowledge of ISO and other electrical standards

Responsibilities

• Create and edit documentation
• Establish, govern, and enforce organization-wide documentation standards, policies, and best practices
• May have to commute to other Maverick Power facilities in part of document development
• Help manage the lifecycle for operation documentation such as SOPs, Work Instructions, and Manuals
• Help manage documentation libraries and systems
• Participate in R&D initiatives, including testing, evaluation, and implementation of new systems
• Perform work that is predominantly intellectual and varied in nature, requiring consistent exercise of discretion and independent judgment
