Job summary

Citrin Cooperman is seeking a dynamic R&D Tax Director to lead the development and execution of R&D tax credit studies and Sec. 174 cost analyses for a range of small to middle-market clients.

The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, strong leadership, and the ability to manage multiple engagements in a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in R&D tax, CPA or EA designation, and prior Big Four or Top 20 experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience conducting and managing R&D Tax Credit Studies and Sec. 174 Cost Analyses.
• Experience with a Big Four or Top 20 public accounting firm.
• Active CPA or EA designation.
• Strong analytical, organizational and leadership skills with experience evaluating large datasets and leading client service teams.
• Experience with corporate and flow-through tax compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D Tax Credit Studies and Sec. 174 Cost Analyses for multiple client engagements.
• Oversee project planning, resource coordination, and client communications to ensure on-time delivery.
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of engagement deliverables in line with firm standards.
• Drive process improvements and technology enablement to scale the practice.
• Mentor and develop engagement teams, providing coaching and technical guidance.
• Collaborate with firm leadership on growth initiatives and national office matters.
