Job summary

Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI in San Francisco, seeking an experienced procurement leader to own long-lead components, qualify and dual-source critical vendors, and work with engineering to keep hardware programs on track.

You will own make-versus-buy decisions, manage supplier relationships, and drive sourcing for prototype to production ramps. This role demands speed, autonomy, and a track record of delivering hardware at scale.

Qualifications

• Experience buying long-lead engineered hardware where lead time was decisive.
• Proven ability to qualify a second source when single-sourcing was expected.
• Collaborated with engineers early to influence design for supply considerations.
• Maintained supplier relationships through prototype to production transitions.
• Able to justify program dates with lead-time evidence and data.

Responsibilities

• Own long-lead procurement for the compressor program and related parts.
• Qualify and dual-source vendors on the critical path.
• Purchase for prototype and production ramp concurrently.
• Conduct make-versus-buy evaluations with engineering.
• Keep procurement off the project schedule's critical path.
