Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an R&D Software Engineer for HP PageWide Web Press. You will develop software and firmware that directly controls large-scale electromechanical systems, with milliseconds-level responsiveness and high uptime requirements.

You’ll work across the full product lifecycle—from architecture and design through on-press validation and deployment—collaborating with teams across software, firmware, mechanical, and quality to ensure robust, safe, and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of work experience in software design and development.
• Experience with C/C++, Java, Groovy, Scala, or JavaScript.
• Experience with distributed, multi-threaded, or event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with Agile development and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to work across software and firmware domains.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain software and/or firmware for HP PageWide Web Press platforms.
• Build distributed, multi-threaded, and event-driven systems interacting with real-time hardware and industrial controls.
• Translate product and system requirements into robust implementations.
• Collaborate with writing systems, controls, mechanical, electrical, quality, service, and product teams.
• Execute automated and manual test strategies, including lab and on-press validation.
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
• Investigate and resolve issues in development and customer environments.
