Job summary

Keystone Industries in Gibbstown, NJ is seeking an entry-level R&D Scientist 1. You will conduct experiments, develop formulations, and collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Sales, and Manufacturing.

Entry tasks include hands-on lab work and data collection, with growth toward project leadership as you gain experience. The ideal candidate has 0–2 years in a lab, strong English communication, good math skills, and proficiency with Excel.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years’ experience in a laboratory environment.
• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Good mathematical skills for unit conversions and calculations.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Computer proficient; MS Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, independent or team environment.
• Willing to wear PPE and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the quality system elements such as batch cards, QCAs, COAs, and retains.
• Prepare and maintain laboratory SOPs and test methods.
• Complete assignments, projects and prepare reports or summaries.
• Create product specifications for development samples.
• Create, maintain, and organize standards and lab documentation.
• Develop and verify formulas; match colors in cosmetic mediums.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safe practices.
