Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions (MAES) is seeking an experienced materials scientist for its R&D team in the United States. The role centers on developing soldering/interconnecting and allied materials to meet business requirements, while evaluating raw materials and products to align with customer needs.

You will operate laboratory instruments, document results, and present findings with internal teams and customers, ensuring safe, compliant lab operations and advancing materials science

Qualifications

• M.S./M.Tech or Ph.D. in a relevant field with 4–6 years of industrial or academic research experience.
• Strong understanding of materials science to correlate structure, composition and processing with properties.
• Experience with analytical techniques used for material characterization.

Responsibilities

• Develop soldering/interconnecting and allied materials per business requirements.
• Evaluate raw materials and products against customer requirements.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and document test results.
• Plan technical pathways to develop new products per business needs.
• Conduct experiments, formulations, material characterization and reliability testing.
• Present technical findings to workgroups and external customers.
• Maintain inventory of materials and ensure safe, clean lab conditions.
