Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions in the United States seeks an analytical chemist to support R&D projects, qualify materials, and document experimental results with rigor. You will help develop measurement methods, analyze data, and contribute to product development and quality improvements in a fast-paced lab environment.

The role requires a chemistry or related degree, hands-on analytical technique experience, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with teams.

Qualifications

  • Completed studies in chemistry, chemical engineering or closely related technical field with equivalent experience.
  • Experience in analytical chemistry and development of analytical methods.
  • Familiar with HPLC, IC, NMR, IR and LC-MS desirable.
  • Experience in electroplating technology desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support for R&D projects and quality documentation.
  • Develop and validate measurement methods for complex tasks.
  • Analyze and interpret measurement data and results.
  • Qualification of alternate raw materials to support localization and risk management.
  • Calibrate, operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment such as ICP-OES, XRF, HPLC, IC.
  • Prepare SOPs, calibration reports and analysis reports to comply with ISO 9001-2015.
  • Maintain detailed records of research activities and protect trade secrets.

Who are we looking for?

To efficiently support the implementation and analytical execution of R&D projects by conducting the qualification and specification of raw materials, intermediates, and materials used in product formulations. Ensure accurate documentation, analysis, and presentation of experimental results while contributing to product development, quality improvement, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

What will you be doing?
  • Analytical support for Industrial Solutions product development lab, pilot line and Electronics R&D
  • Development and establishment of suitable measurement methods for solving complex tasks.
  • Analyse and interpret measurement results.
  • Analysis and qualification of alternate raw materials to support product localization, mitigate single-source risks, and manage supplier Force Majeure events.
  • Calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot sophisticated laboratory equipment such as ICP-OES, XRF, HPLC, IC.
  • Prepare work instruction, standard operating procedures, calibration reports and analysis reports to comply with quality management system, ISO 9001-2015.
  • Accountable for the timely completion of analysis requests and method development.
  • Must maintain detailed records of research activities. This includes both laboratory e-notebook as well as Technical Memoranda.
  • Must maintain and safeguard confidential and trade secret information regarding products, processes, and techniques.
  • Participation in symposia and lecture events
  • Lectures at internal and external scientific events
Who are You?
  • Completed studies in the field of chemistry, chemical engineering or a closely related technical field with equivalent experience
  • Experience in the analytical field of chemistry and in the development of analytical methods
  • Experience in handling HPLC, IC, NMR, IR, LC-MS desirable
  • Experience in the field of electroplating technology desirable
  • Strong ability to analyse project requirements and create new measurement methods with suitable equipment to perform complex tests.
  • Experience with basic principles of statistical process control (SPC)
