Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, a segment of Element Solutions Inc., seeks an innovative R&D Chemist in the United States to advance materials, formulations, and technologies for wafer level and semiconductor packaging. The candidate will work on analytical chemistry projects, develop methods, and communicate findings within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemistry with 0-2 yrs of laboratory experience.
  • Strong background in Analytical Chemistry and/or Electrochemistry particularly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with modern analytical instrumentation and laboratory techniques, including chromatographic, spectroscopic, and electrochemical methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop analytical methods, and assist in formulation of products for the wafer level and semiconductor packaging, IC substrate, and printed circuit board industries
  • Identify, develop, and execute analytical research project activities as delegated to them by the Senior Research Manager
  • Observe, analyze, and interpret the results from these activities and make recommendations for the direction and preferred route forward for analytical research projects
  • Use data generated pro-actively for problem solving and/or value added activities on projects
  • Write reports and presentations that clearly communicate technical findings to other researchers, and participating in departmental project meetings
  • Knowledge and hand-on experience on state of the art analytical methodologies, which include but not limited to electrochemical techniques, CVS, UV-vis, FTIR, HPLC, IC, and GPC.
  • Maintain a high level of professional expertise in the state of the art principles, theories and methodologies in technology areas of strategic importance to AIS
