Job summary

Formlabs in Boston, MA is seeking an R&D Reliability/Test Engineer for June 2027 grads to join the Hardware Engineering team. You will develop validation plans, run tests on electromechanical subsystems, and drive reliability from day one.

You will prototype tests in Python, analyze data, perform RCA, and collaborate across design teams to identify risks and design improvements that improve product robustness and durability.

Qualifications

  • Experience testing sensors, actuators, and mechanical components.
  • Ability to develop system test plans and execute them within fast-paced product development timelines.
  • Proficiency in prototyping and running tests from setup to hardware/software implementation (Python).
  • Strong data analysis skills to distill results into actionable insights.
  • Experience with RCA and CAPA workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and manage validation test plans for system, subsystem, and component levels.
  • Perform hands-on and data-driven RCA of electromechanical subsystems and field failures.
  • Design, build, and implement automated testing equipment for subsystem characterization and reliability testing.
