Job description

The R&D Raw Material Consultant will support the Research & Development Operations team in building and maintaining accurate, organized and compliant raw material and formula data within Evermark’s SpecRight product lifecycle management (PLM) system. This role sits at the intersection of a data integrity, supplier management and compliance – supporting a Base Business function responsible for cost savings initiatives, reformulations, manufacturing network resiliency and rapid response to production and supply disruptions.

Working closely with cross-function teams and external partners – including raw material suppliers and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) – the consultant will collect, review, verify and organize technical documentation across a large and complex raw material portfolio spanning multiple brands. A key focus will be identifying and closing documentation gaps, standardizing records and ensuring material data is current, traceable and decision-ready.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large volumes of technical data while coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on exposure to the operational backbone of product development in the personal care industry, while contributing to a documentation framework used directly by R&D and leadership for decision‑making.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Raw material data management - Support standardization and harmonization of raw material and formula records within the SpecRight PLM system, including consistent naming conventions, mapping material codes to technical specifications, and identifying and resolving data gaps or discrepancies across the raw material portfolio
  • Supplier & CMO Coordination - Connect with raw material suppliers and/or CMOs to obtain and verify technical documentation, including specifications, certificates of analysis (COAs), safety data sheets (SDS) and regulatory support documentation; follow up proactively to close outstanding requests
  • Tracking & follow‑through – Maintain a clear, up‑to‑date log of open documentation requests and outstanding supplier deliverables; manage status tracking across the full raw material portfolio and elevate stalled items to ensure timely resolution
  • Technical documentation organization – Organize and maintain specifications, SDS, and related technical files in alignment with company standards and version control practices, and documentation management protocols within SpecRight
Potential Responsibilities
  • Continuous improvement – Support process improvement initiatives related to R&D operations, documentation standards, and data management workflows
  • Additional support – Support additional R&D Operations activities and cross‑functional projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of industry experience with Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g. Chemistry, Engineering, Biology) or 1-3 years of industry experience with Master’s degree in related field
  • Proven experience in R&D operations, raw material management or regulatory/technical documentation within a similar role
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and supplier relationships simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in data entry and specification/PLM management systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort communicating directly with external suppliers and CMOs
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with consumer products, such as skin care, skin cleansers, hair care, baby care and/or deodorant products is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with raw material management and specification systems
  • Experience with product documentation and submission processes
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in an R&D environment
  • Experience organizing large datasets or structured technical/regulatory information
