Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an R&D Technician III to support a leading medical device client with independent collaboration alongside engineers and scientists. The role involves developing, testing, and analyzing new products, materials, and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

You will build and test prototypes, create CAD drawings, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate fabrication and testing with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology, or related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of experience in an R&D, laboratory, manufacturing, or engineering technician environment.
• Experience building, assembling, and testing prototypes or mechanical products.
• Basic CAD experience and ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, modify, and test prototypes, fixtures, and products based on engineering concepts and design specifications.
• Create and maintain basic mechanical drawings and CAD documentation for prototypes and test fixtures.
• Support engineers with creative problem-solving and design improvement recommendations.
• Coordinate prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing activities according to project requirements.
• Document test results, observations, and project progress for engineering teams.
• Assist in establishing product specifications, testing protocols, and quality standards.
• Work with internal departments and external vendors to source materials, components, and services.
• Serve as a technical resource and provide guidance to team members when needed.
• Communicate project updates and technical findings to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with quality system requirements, procedures, and documentation standards.
